History

  • Oct. 10, 1963: Opened as the Incheon Branch Office of the Hydrographic Division of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
  • Feb. 13, 1970: Relocated to the Maritime Transportation Bureau of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
  • Mar. 23, 1979: Reopened as the Incheon Branch Office of the Hydrographic Division of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
  • Dec. 5, 1987: Renamed as the Janghang Branch Office.
  • Feb. 13, 1988: Relocated to Incheon from Janghang.
  • Nov. 26, 1994: Renamed as the Janghang Hydrographic Office the Hydrographic Division of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
  • Aug. 9, 1996: Renamed as the Janghang Hydrographic and Oceanographic Office of MOF/ KHOA.
  • Oct. 1, 2002: Renamed as the West Sea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Office.
  • Feb. 29, 2008: Reorganized as the West Sea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Office of MLTM/KHOA.
  • Apr. 28, 2009: Relocated to a new government office building.
  • Mar. 25, 2013: Belonged to MOF again.
