The Phase 3 of the Category B Marine Geospatial Information Programme is scheduled to take place from 3rd to 28th July 2017 at the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency (KHOA), Busan, Republic of Korea.
The Marine Geospatial Information Programme is delivered in a three-year cycle from 2015 to 2017 and was recognized as “Category B” by the FIG-IHO-ICA International Board on Standards of Competence for Hydrographic Surveyors and Nautical Cartographers (IBSC) in April 2014. It is run by the Capacity Building Fund of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) sponsored by the RoK.
The Programme is attended by eight participants from Bahrain, Cuba, Ecuador, Philippines (2), Republic of Korea (2), Vietnam and the IIC Technologies has taken on the role of instructors. Varying background of the participants has given different perspectives into the Programme so far. The Phase 3 will be focused on marine environment, marine spatial data infrastructure, remote sensing for hydrographers and nautical chart product finishing.
