The 'sea parting survey' is designed to monitor time zones when submerged terrain is exposed according to sea-level drop. If necessary, this survey is conducted in a place where sea parting is anticipated.

Ungdo Island’s
The sea parting survey is designed to determine two things: one is the base level of sea parting by conducting tidal and leveling rod observations and hydrographical leveling for periods of more than a year, and the other is the estimated time of sea parting by using tidal observation data.
